Author has a chatty writing style with sentences that seem to flow very easily from her fingers. Her private eye, now retired from Seattle's police force, is elderly, but uses his connections with his previous buddy's to help him with forensics, searches, etc. The author moves her characters through the plot swiftly with everything falling into place neatly as JP seems to know exactly what needs to be done at each stage of his investigation. There is a positive tone throughout the story with all plot lines ending nicely. I confess I did turn many pages of chatty material quite quickly - descriptions of many dog walks, drives across Metro Seattle, relationship backgrounds - and returned to reading when the storyline continued. In this story, JP discovers he has fathered a daughter on a one night stand in his youth and now is asked by her stepfather to help find the girl's father of her baby who, it seems, stands to inherit a bundle from him. The author is very prolific! i just might try another one of her many books.
