Add a CommentAfter Kat’s crew manages to pull off a heist from the Henley, one of the most secure museums in the world, she isn’t surprised to find that someone wants her to steal the Cleopatra Emerald. But there are a few small problems: it hasn’t been displayed in public for over thirty years, it is being kept safely kept away in a place better guarded than the Henley, and lastly, the Cleopatra Emerald is rumored to be cursed.
This mind-blowing sequel will steal your breath. It’s an excellent book for anyone who loves adventure with just a hint of mystery.
Another great caper in the Heist Society series!!
For the last two months Kat’s been known as the girl who ran the crew that robbed the greatest museum in the world. That’s why Kat isn’t surprised when she’s asked to steal the infamous Cleopatra Emerald so it can be returned to its rightful owners. There are only three problems. First, the gem hasn’t been seen in public in thirty years. Second, since the fall of the Egyptian empire and the suicide of Cleopatra, no one who holds the emerald keeps it for long, and in Kat’s world, history almost always repeats itself. But it’s the third problem that makes Kat’s crew the most nervous and that is the emerald is cursed. After all she has her and the rest of her crew with her as they chase the Cleopatra around the globe, dodging curses, realizing that the same tricks and cons her family has used for centuries are useless this time. I give this a book a 5 out of 5 because of all the twist in the plot that keeps you guessing.
Again the author Ally Carter does not disappoint in terms of keeping a fast paced and interesting plot with captivating characters. Uncommon criminals follows a crew of teenagers known for robbing the greatest museum ever known. Although this book is a bit confusing at first, especially if you’ve read the first book a while back; I loved the characters even more in this book. After Kat and her crew robbed the Henley, they have a bit of a reputation so when an elderly lady asks them to steal the Cleopatra stone for her they agree, even though it is cursed, but when things take a turn for the worst and the crew realizes something, they find themselves trying to steal to return the stone back to its rightful owner. The character development in this series is very well written and not at all choppy or unnatural. The author Ally Carter does an excellent job at connecting with her audience through her characters because despite the fact that Kat is a criminal, she undergoes the same struggles and issues teenagers deal with today. The sidekicks in this book were also very interesting to read about, each with a different personality that bring something different to the team. This is a very quick read that I think would be good for teenagers looking for a bit of mystery that isn’t too dark or serious.
LOVE.LOVE.LOVE this series. It gets better with every book! OK, so last time, we were introduced to Kat and her crew- Hale, Gabrielle, Simon, the Bagshaws. Kat realized that as much as she might try to walk away, she would always be a thief. But now, she's working solo, and Hale doesn't like it. At all. So when an old woman with a sad story comes to her to ask for her help in stealing a supposedly cursed jewel, Hale and Gabrielle aren't going to let her do it alone. But everything is turned upside-down when they realize that the unthinkable has happened- Kat has been conned.
As full of laughs, love, and adventure as ever, Uncommon Criminals has enough twists to keep you holding on for dear life. And for all you who say Gallagher Girls is better, I totally disagree. HEIST SOCIETY FOR THE WIN! XD
