I felt like I made the Journey along with Lewis and Clark as Ken Burns film moved from start to conclusion. It is such an amazing story! Both men were of such outstanding character. The actors used to portray Lewis and Clark did such a fantastic job. It may be long but the trip is well worth taking!

6 Stars if possible. I've watched this more than once & still never tire of this history.

A nice presentation of story telling from the lewis and clark diaries. No re-enactments included in this documentary. Only pictures of landscape, photos and paintings with periodic historian interviews. I prefer docudramas where they re-enact the scenes. Overall is was very factual and a captivating story to be told.

It was a very detailed account of Lewis & Clark's journey into the great unknown to map the United States as we know today.
It was also a very long movie, which at times put me to sleep.
The narration was good, but there was no people only scenery, though still breathtaking to watch.
A perfect movie to watch on a slow day or when it is raining.

This is a 2-side disc offering some 240 minutes of viewing. It is great for lovers of American history, or of nature. I have been spoiled by Blu-ray technology so I find the VHS-grade video erodes the beauty of the nature scenes, and greatly dampens my liking for it. So I passed after 30 minutes.

My personal favourite of the works of Ken Burns; a sprawling tale of the first American expedition to cross the continent, with great cinematography, narration by the incomparable Hal Holbrook, a fine selection of imagery. The Corps of Discovery story is one of the greatest stories of exploration in the history of the world, made all the more tragic because of what could have been, if more people who'd followed in their footsteps also followed their example in interacting with the Native peoples they encountered.
