John Dies at the End
Book - 2009
This may be the story of John and David, a drug called soy sauce, and other-worldly beings invading the planet. Or, it may be the story of two beer-drinking friends who live in an unnamed Midwestern town and only think something horrific is going on. But the important thing is, according to the narrator, "None of this is my fault."

One of the wildest books I've ever read. It is filled with unpredictable wackiness that is just beautifully written. The humor makes the insanity of this book, all the more enjoyable!
If you've seen the movie, you've only JUST begun to experience the awesomeness of this book!
If you like Stephen King & science fiction, and you can tolerate a demented sense of humour, you'll enjoy this one.
I shouldn't have read the book about spiders first.
Thank you Virgina "Recommended by" for this book! I had no idea about it, never heard about it or the movie but I loved it. It had the super natural stuff and it was funny! I laughed out loud a lot! I really want to watch the movie now! and can't wait to read the others!
It would be best to read the book before seeing the movie. It also helps if you're "on the soy sauce" while doing both.
This book is one of the most entertaining and original works I've ever read. David Wong, a writer for cracked magazine, writes with a fast paced wit that leaves you laughing and wanting more. The sequel is every bit as good, and I can't wait until the third installment is available next month. Anyone who wants a unique story with dark humor and a terrific cast of characters will enjoy this book immensely
I find it quite frightning that my name is Sean, which is Irish for John, and i just saw a book called "John dies at the end"....... Thats a bad sign right? (T-T)
I couldn't put this book down. From start to finish I was hooked on the world and characters that David Wong had created. The story kept me on my toes and whenever I thought I had figured something out, I was completely wrong. Highly recommended.
This was quite possibly the weirdest, most surreal book I've ever read. The entire book reminded me of this Widespread Panic lyric, "You look around the room you find the pant is peeling, your reflective skin is falling off your bones." Like a good Stephen King novel even my dreams were infected. Just this morning I woke in a pool of sweat as a giant oozing acid monster was swallowing my head and melting me into a big blue vat. I was never happier to be awoken by the cash register sound my eBay app makes as I make yet another sell.
