This book begins seconds after the second one, right in the middle of the excitement. All of their friends except for Emma and Addison have been captured and Jacob discovers a new power. They set off looking for their friends and crosses a polluted river to get to the wright's home to rescue their friends. There Addison is captured, and Jacob and Emma are shocked to find many peculiar people who have become trapped there and, in some cases, have put themselves up for viewing and sale. The worst of these peculiars have also become addicted to a specific drug known as ambrosia, which is taken by being poured into the eyes and is supposed to imbue the taker with great physical strength.
This book is SO amzaing and the conclusion is immensly satisfying, unlike a lot of other series. All of the characters and their developement ended off in the best way possible and if you have already read the first and second book, READ THIS BOOK NOW. If not, start at the first book and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This is the third book in a very popular and creative teen fantasy/time travel series. It looked like the LAST book for quite a while, but Riggs has added more since then

The third novel begins seconds after the cliffhanger at the end of book 2 (*Hollow City*). Many of the children and all of their adult mentors have been taken captive. Only Jacob and Emma are left, along with Addison, a talking dog with a talent for finding missing people. Together the three of them (Jacob, Emma, and the dog) have to find a way into the terrifying time loop of the enemies, hoping to find an ally along the way.

Any more plot description would be futile. If you have read the first two books, you can’t wait for this one. You certainly cannot read this on its own. I have really liked the creativity of this series, with its twists and with its fascinating characters. In the last few chapters of this book the plotting becomes a bit strained as Riggs tries to wrap it all up. Still, it’s a fine series that will hold your attention through all three volumes.

Ahhhhh!! I loved, loved, loved this book!! Probably my favorite book in this series so far, it really delves into the seedier side of the world the author created! Jacob, the main character, really comes into his own and seeing all bits and pieces come to fruition made me so happy!!

I enjoyed this book as much as the first two in the series. It was, once again, very well written with the words creating amazing images of a world that could almost be real.

I can't get enough of the way Ransom Riggs writes. I love the imagery and found myself getting pulled into the story. I great sequel to a wonderful story.

Beautiful. I wish there were more books in the series. I watched the movie first, and that was great, but the books are so much better.

What a dark, dark series this has become! I knew from the photos and first one that this was definitely one of a kind, and I would never forget how much I was creeped out at first looking through it. With the plot spirally higher and higher with anticipation and interest, I dove into this book so fast and came out of it very satisfied. The end was not what I expected, but I still think I am okay with it for all its worth. I genuinely think people should give this trilogy a try, despite how scary it may seem. The darkest corners hide all the most interesting things, no?

While I will be the first to admit it was a little slower in the action department than the first two books in the series, I appreciate how this one wrapped up the story. The photographs and text work together brilliantly to create an unforgettable story.

Good read. I was looking for the movie from the start of the series and found this and was like, got to get it. Was good from the beginning all the to the end. The author writes well and you feel like a part of the story as well. Loved the ending. Was not what I expected.
