The action packed book (written by Suzanne Collins) turned film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire stands out amongst the others in its series; the movie is such an upgrade from the original because of the production and storyline. I was immersed in the movie when I first watched it! Even after, I’ve rewatched it several times and I still enjoy it just as much as I had the first time. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was directed by Francis Lawerence and it has won numerous awards such as the MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Movie. The movie features a cast of incredible actors and actresses; Jennifer Lawerence who plays Katniss Everdeen is the main character while Josh Hutcherson (who plays Peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (who plays Gale Hawthorne), Elizabeth Banks (who plays Effie Trinket), Jena Malone (who plays Johanna Mason), and Sam Claflin (who plays Finnick Odair) are the supporting characters to her. I loved the costumes throughout the movie because I thought that they were very well researched from the book. Also, they gave more essence to the people of the Capitol who are very extravagant. In conclusion, I would rate the movie 5/5 stars because it’s definitely deserved!

I love the Hunger Games books, and though the movies are good, they aren't as good as the books. This was a good movie that I would watch again, though at first I didn't like it as much as I did after re-watching it. I feel like my favorite Catching Fire scene was adapted perfectly, though. The movie was well done and still held most of the meaning held by the book. The only thing that I didn't really like about it was that there were some instances of profanity, which weren't in the book. Since in the book the obscenities either didn't exist or were summed as just, "obscenities", or, "horrible horrible things", I felt that it was unnecessary to have the inappropriate words. It kind of took away from the story.

I have loved all the film adaptations of this series. They have done a good job of staying true to the books.

Surprising and epic, 'Catching Fire' quickly builds in suspense and action. It is a fantastic sequel to 'The Hunger Games' and does not suffer from the problems that plague most YA adaptions.

Better in some ways, worse in others. At least it's watchable.

The Hunger Games “Catching Fire” movie was great. I loved reading the original Hunger Games series as a kid, so it was amazing to see the novel come to life in the theatres. Catching Fire was a great movie, however, I still think that the first movie was better than the second. In particular, I loved the acting in Catching Fire - it was great to see the chemistry between Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson during tough times, and I thought that the whole concept of Katniss’s rebellion was greatly portrayed. Not only that, but the special effects in the movie certainly made it come to life, especially during fighting scenes. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie, and I would definitely recommend it to friends if they are looking for a great action-packed film. Rating:4/5

Katniss continues her battle against the corrupted government where Snow is the ringleader. Although she survived the games, it is never truly over. Everyone she loves are being threatened if she and Peeta doesn’t convince the Capitol they are in love. He is even trying to kill her off once again in the third quarter quell which leaves victors furious and ignites the rebellion further. This was an outstanding sequel that once again left viewers on their toes throughout the whole thing. There was a beautiful mix of romance, action and political warfare that kept things engaging and exciting. Characters are further developed and ending was phenomenal. Amazing. Rating:5/5

Catching Fire is the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy, after winning the Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen returns home to her family in the victor's village. Her unusual victory caused tension within the capital and began a rebellion within the 12 districts. President Snow in order to control the districts made the 75th Hunger Games, a returning victors game where Katniss is forced to return to the arena and fight again. I would recommend this sequel because of the interesting storyline and cinematic presentation. Jennifer Lawrence who plays Katniss is a phenomenal actor, especially in this movie.

The first Hunger Games movie was one of my favourite movies to watch I really enjoyed watching this movie because it had a lot of great emotional scenes and great fighting scenes which are 2 keys components a movie should have. Not only did the fact it have that but this movie reflected on what the pst was like for example how the poor are used for the excitement for the rich and how the rich are happy and the poor are struggling and literally fighting. Without giving out any spoilers, this movie is about a girl and her trying to survive in something called the hunger games where 2 people from poor districts fight for the amusement of rich people and how there is only one person that can one. This movie was really surprising to watch because you were always wondering what was going to happen next and questioning yourself if he or she is going to be ok. The ending of the movie was really surprising also which a lot of people would not expect. For those reason I would give this movie a 5/5 rating.

__ President Snow, keen to get rid of some of the more troublesome Hunger Games Victors (and thereby, the restless, rebelliousness permeating in the districts), declares a match between the victors. In district 12, Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch, await the draw. Effy Trinket puts on a brave face, made out to be reaching into a bowl (that actually wasn't there) to reach the single piece of paper with the one name on it. Katniss. Haymitch name came out of the guys bowl, was called but Peeta volunteered, replacing him. Against Haymitch and Katniss agreement.

_ A train ride around the districts, on which Katniss catches glimpses of rioting, being watched for some reason on TV by Rose's Peacekeepers, also on the train. The Peacekeepers had left their door open, also for some reason. Unrest is also evident in the districts. First stop, they sympathized for the family of dead Contestant 7. Old man is lead up front and shot by Peacemakers, for making Mocking Jay sign. A Mocking Jay symbol has been painted on the wall of the train tunnel. They pass (12?) Peacemaker trucks, either side of tracks and the scenic vistas are replaced by several lines of VERY mean looking security fences. Next stop, a woman shouts a loud protest (about food shortages?). At one stop, there are no people to welcome them, only masses of Peacemakers, causing Effy to complain "Where are the crowds"? Perhaps it was this slight, that had her think about crossing to the rebels? Into the Capitol. Contestants Hall. Haymitch suggests allies. Katniss suggests Elderly mute volunteer, who had agreed to show her how to make a fishing lure. Peeta glances heavenward. Then to a public party. Peeta declines more food as full. Woman offers him drink of blue fluid - to make him throw up, return to eating. He latter complains starving in districts, while Capitol folk (waste food). They parade, before the masses and TV cameras.

_ Watching this on TV, President Rose's granddaughter expresses the wish that she will be as in love as Peeta and Katniss. Rose expression turns unreadable, he then assures her she will be. He later discusses killing all of the contestants. A contestants dress, upon the wearer doing a spin, flares up and changes color and to bird feathers. Later, as the wearer is locked in the tube and transported to arena, 4 Peacemakers arrived and beat up the dress's creator. In the arena, it becomes apparent that a group have signed up some of the other contestants - watch for the gold bracelet! It is unclear if this is all part of a long run plan, to beat the Regime on TV, or if a last minute thing. That Katniss and co WEREN'T BRIEFED - suggests last minute! On several occasions, another contestant urges "Remember who the real enemy is".

I'll cease my summary, at this point.

The nation of Panem, formed from a post-apocalyptic North America, is a country that consists of a wealthy Capitol region surrounded by 12 poorer districts. Early in its history, a rebellion led by a 13th district against the Capitol resulted in its destruction and the creation of an annual televised event known as the Hunger Games. In punishment, and as a reminder of the power and grace of the Capitol, each district must yield one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 through a lottery system to participate in the games. The 'tributes' are chosen during the annual Reaping and are forced to fight to the death, leaving only one survivor to claim victory.

When 16-year-old Katniss's young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives, some of whom have trained for this their whole lives. , she sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature. (less)
