This book was very enlightening and heartbreaking. I loved the experience of reading from the perspective of a non-famous, every day dealing with such adversity. Esther’s personality, hope, and passion for life jumps off the page and I loved hearing her thoughts and reading people’s perspectives on her. Her words and opinions are potent and jump off the page, and you feel as though you slowly get to know her as you progress through the story. You can feel the love and value she held for those she loved and the world in general even while dealing with something so scary. -@ClockworkReader of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

This book was amazing. I loved the pictures and all the journals. Must-read if you read The Fault In Our Stars.

Great book for those who want to get to know the real Hazel

Um, in response to leslietrejoxo, Esther Earl isn't Hazel from tfios. Esther inspired the book and creation of Hazel, but John Green himself has said that she isn't the real-life version of Hazel.

I absolutely loved this book! While I was reading it, I thought about how amazing a girl Esther was and how much I'd love to meet her, but then I remembered that she died in 2010, and this made me really sad. I cried through almost the whole book. I would reccomend this book for anyone who isn't too affected by sad stories, as I dwelled on it a lot after I read it and sometimes cried thinking about Esther after the book was over. I love you Esther! I'll miss you!

“We live in a world defined by its boundaries: You cannot travel faster than the speed of light. You must and will die. You cannot escape these boundaries. But the miracl and hope of human consciousness is that we can still conceive of boundlessness.”
