After the fall of the communist regime in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1991, Divko Buntic returns to his former home after a 20-year exile in Germany. Returning with an attractive young girlfriend, a flashy new Mercedes, a pocketful of cash, and a lucky black cat, things are looking good for Divko. When his cat goes missing, things begin to fall apart. Divko's personal tumult finds an unsettling mirror in the country at large with signs appearing that the Bosnian War is coming.

This movie delves into the hard realities of communism and post-communism peppered with humour and very interesting peeks into the homes of a small town in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Beautifully shot. I liked this movie very much.

A good movie.

A small, well-made film from Bosnia-Herzegovina. The film started off with one of the main characters being fairly obnoxious. So I was initially turned off. As the film moved into the 2nd half, it got better. Love to look at that young, sexy actress who one gets to like in the end. Subtitles.

Be warned that this begins very inauspiciously, but is well worth persisting with. It turns out to be a fine film with genuinely multifaceted characters going through plausible struggles relating to the breakup of Yugoslavia and the awful wars surrounding that. Some youthful tensions regarding erotic matters are well-realized too. Recommended.

A very engaging film, amusing, thought-provoking and moving. All in all, much better than expected, a nice surprise.
