This book was very good, in the end, it was quite heart-warming. It was funny in all the right parts and serious and awkward too. This probably isn't my best comment but I hope to read Boy Problem soon!

Sympathetic, entertaining and an overall heroine. Any guy would fall for a girl like that. Right? But for whatever reason, that’s not the case for Kara McAllister and she just can’t figure out why. Upset and shamed at not having a boyfriend or been kissed by age thirteen, Kara is determined to use the scientific method to get a boyfriend: “I’ll be the eighth grade version of Jane Goodall, except I’ll be observing boys instead of chimps. Not that there’s a huge difference.” She only has one goal; to win the science fair with this project and achieve an A, which means unlimited texting promised by her parents. So many things are able to be accomplished in one goal! Well, that’s what Kara thinks. Observations, charts, note taking, graphs and secret surveys are all part of her plan, which has humorous and unexpected twists and turns as her views of (and feelings for) her subjects shift during the course of her research. A book of a teenage universe of popular girls, dorky boys, misunderstanding teachers and friendship; through it all, Kara manages the tough life of a teenage girl and learns that the scientific method does not always apply to human beings.

I think that many teenage girls could relate to this book if they have ever felt left out or shamed of who they were. Unexpected twists are sure to lead you through the many different pathways Kara chooses to go through; she has to make her decisions carefully, though, as any decision she makes could carry her to her doom, much like the tough years of teenage-hood. I personally found that this was a hilarious and exciting book. This easy read talks about the true meanings of being a teenage girl and through the hardships and heart-breaks, Kara finally comes to understand. You might spend all day and night finding a way to get what isn’t in your life but in the end all that matters are the things that are already in your life; the little things hiding in the corner that you never realized were there that blossom into the big things you could never be more grateful for.
